Professional Background and Philosophy:
Barbara is a true professional in her field. Her calming approach to marriage
makes a Bride and Groom feel relaxed and comfortable on this most important
day of their lives. Her warm smile and peaceful demeanor portray the feeling
that she has been a long time friend to the couple.
Barbara has been an ordained minister for many years and has studied many
different religions in order to broaden her views and embrace each one
more openly. She completed a thesis on "Blending Beliefs and Finding
Common Ground in Religion."
Barbara believes that each ceremony should be an individual creation and
reflect each couple’s personal taste and beliefs. Every ceremony
is a sacred occasion and is written with a lot of love and care. Her warmth
and involvement with couples shows in the response, enthusiasm and lasting
friendships that evolve from the ceremonies she performs. Whether the ceremony
includes one couple on the beach, or 300 guests at a chapel or other wedding
site, the same attention to detail and perfection is honored.
What Makes My Services Special:
As a Non-Denominational Minister, I welcome couples of any faith, as well
as those who are inter-faith or who are not associated with any particular
church or religion. I spend time with my couples getting to know them in
a very personal way and work with them to create the words and feelings
that best represent their individual ideas and lifestyle. I offer a complimentary
consultation so we can get to know each other, answer questions, and have
the opportunity to share ceremony ideas or a wedding video. My ceremonies
vary from contemporary, to spiritual or traditional with a wide range of
resources.
I offer a set of questions that not only helps me write the ceremony,
but also helps the couple take a realistic look at their future and the
commitment they are making to each other. This is always a very positive
experience for my couples.
Each ceremony is created especially for you—no two ceremonies are
the same. It is a privilege for me to combine different traditions and
rituals, such as Sharing the Wine Cup, Breaking of the Wine Glass, The
Lasso or Infinity Ceremony, Rose Exchange for the Bride and Groom and Parents,
Hand-Fasting, and many others.
